He is a key figure in advancing township and community-based tourism, particularly in Durban and across KwaZulu-Natal. His past and current leadership roles include serving as Chairperson of INK Tourism, Deputy Chairperson of the Durban Chamber of Commerce – Tourism Chapter and Founding Member and Board Member of SATOVITO (South African Townships and Villages Tourism).
