Tour Plan

01

Morning: Walking Through Our History

  • We leave Durban early in the morning and head up north into Zululand, making our way to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. As we arrive, we hop into open safari vehicles for an exciting morning game drive, which is the best time to catch the animals in action, especially the big cats like lions and leopards. Experienced guides will take us through the park’s beautiful landscapes, from hills and forests to wide open grasslands, while we look out for elephants, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, and plenty of birdlife. Along the way, the guide will also share some interesting stories about the park’s past, its importance in rhino conservation, and the history of the Zulu kings who once walked these lands.
02

Midday: Good Food, Good Vibes

  • After the game drive, we take a well-deserved break to enjoy lunch with a view at one of the park’s popular hilltop restaurants. Tuck into a traditional South African meal or opt for something more modern, the choice is yours. While you eat, you'll have a stunning view of a nearby watering hole where animals often come to drink. From flame-grilled shisanyama to game meat favourites like venison, there’s something for every palate, all enjoyed in the fresh bush air with breathtaking views of the landscape.
03

Afternoon: Scenery, Stories & Local Flavour

  • In the afternoon, we take a relaxed, scenic drive through the quieter parts of the park, giving you a chance to soak in the untouched beauty of the African bush. Keep an eye out, you might spot elephants feeding near the road or a group of wildebeest making their way across. If time allows and the group is keen, we’ll make a stop at a nearby Zulu cultural site or craft village. It’s a great opportunity to check out local beadwork, learn more about Zulu customs, and pick up a few one-of-a-kind souvenirs. As the sun starts to set, we’ll begin our journey back to Durban.
